BatchIt! icon Create BAT files from scratch, or by loading existing BAT or BS files, testing out the code for errors, and building it into a working format

Source codes can be written even in plain text editors, but it’s all up to various specialized applications to bundle the code into a working product. In case you happen to be working with command line functions, and simple scripting, BatchIt! allows you to write down the code in an intuitive environment, and assemble it in the blink of an eye.

Can be used on the go

On the one hand, the application requires no installation, which means you can easily carry it around on a thumb drive to use on both your work, and home computer. As a consequence, system registries remain intact, and so you don’t have to worry about affecting the target computer’s health status.

In case you want to start fresh, a new project can be initiated from scratch. Most of the application’s space is dedicated to all the code you need to write. Total number of lines is shown in the status bar, but there’s no line numbering on the side, although creating batch files with Notepad doesn’t benefit from this option either.

Simple code editing, and fast building

Syntax highlighting isn’t among the implemented features. However, you are free to change the text font and color, but this applies to the whole text for your own satisfaction. Existing code can also be loaded either through the browse dialog, or by dropping them over the main window, and you can do this with BS, and BAT files.

The application can be used to test the code once you’re done writing it down, but you’re not exactly pointed towards the error, if one is encountered. Building, on the other hand, only requires the press of a button, with the corresponding BAT file created in the source directory.

A few last words

Taking everything into consideration, we can say that BatchIt! is a lightweight, easy to use source code editing environment, which can also build your project once it’s fully written down. Although not as varied when it comes to code writing support, with options like syntax highlighting or line numbering, work with batch files is greatly enhanced.
